Pitching In
Sometimes you hear a story on the news on in someone's blog and it just touches you. That happened to me last week and I haven't been able to get the story out of my head. So, today I'm doing something about it.
NieNie is a "mommy blogger"... a proud mom of 4 young children under the age of six, who blogged almost daily about her family, husband, and creative projects.
Last month, while on a trip with her husband, their plane crashed. The pilot lost his life. Nie's husband and she were both rushed to the hospital. NieNie sustained burns on 80% of her body and her husband was burned 30%. What is more disturbing are the bills they will encounter and the changes their children's lives will undoubtedly go through.
I don't think throwing money at problems is always the answer. But with this matter, I know that a young family with such precious little children and mounting bills... well, they will NEED the money.
This isn't "Extreme Makeover NieNie Edition", but I've set a simple goal and surely with your help we can achieve or exceed it.
Read more about this story at http://www.nierecovery.com.
My goal is, honestly, a random shot in the dark at what I think I could likely push myself to raise via people I know and my word-of-mouth efforts. EVERY CENT donated will be deposited into a Bank of America fund the family has already set-up. You may donate directly to their fund, but if you heard about this due to my ChipIn please consider donating securely here through PayPal. Not only would I like to know my efforts are worthwhile, but ChipIn has created a simple service that allows you to donate without even leaving your computer.
Thanks to everyone for passing the word along!!
